HOW TO FIX INSTALL ERRORS (MSFS 2020 & MSFS 2024)

This install error happens because Windows cannot handle very long file paths.
The fix is to use a SHORTER location for your Community packages.

CHOOSE ONE OPTION BELOW.
OPTION 1 IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.

================================================
OPTION 1 (RECOMMENDED – SIMPLE)
CHANGE THE LOCATION FROM INSIDE THE SIM
================================================

This works for:
• MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024
• Microsoft Store and Steam versions

1) CLOSE Microsoft Flight Simulator

2) Start Microsoft Flight Simulator

3) Go to:
   Marketplace → My Library

4) Click the ⚙️ gear icon (top right)

5) Click on the CURRENT PACKAGE LOCATION
   (do NOT click Update)

6) Choose or create a SHORT folder, for example:
   C:\MSFSPackages

7) Confirm the folder

8) Restart the sim when prompted

The sim will VERIFY files.
It will NOT re-download everything.

IMPORTANT:
• Your Community folder is now in the NEW location
• This is normal
• Do NOT move it back

After this, run the aircraft installer again.
The install error will be gone.

OPTION 2 (ADVANCED USERS ONLY)
USE ADDON LINKER
================================================

Use this ONLY if you already use Addon Linker.

1) Install MSFS Addon Linker:
   https://flightsim.to/file/1572/msfs-addons-linker

2) During Addon Linker setup, choose a SHORT folder location
   Example:
   C:\MSFS_Addons

3) When running our aircraft installer:
   • Look at the install path shown on the right
   • Click the path tab
   • Change the install location to your Addon Linker folder

Addon Linker will then manage loading the aircraft into the sim.

NOTE:
This method is more complex and is NOT recommended
unless you already understand Addon Linker.

================================================
WHICH OPTION SHOULD I USE?
================================================

If you are unsure:

➡️ USE OPTION 1

It is the easiest, safest, and permanent fix.
